President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the commemoration of the 129th anniversary of the heroism and martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal at the Rizal National Monument in Rizal Park, City of Manila on December 30, 2025.
Anchored on the theme ‘Rizal: Sa Pagbangon ng mga Mamamayan, Aral at Diwa Mo ang Tunay na Gabay,’ the anniversary rites commence with a flag-raising ceremony, after which the President proceeds to the center of the Monument for a wreath-laying ceremony.
According to the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), this year’s commemoration ‘remembers the immortal lessons from the life and works of one of our country’s national heroes, in facing new challenges as a nation and people.’
The event is organized by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), the Order of the Knights of Rizal and the City of Manila.
