The Slavic Cottagecore Saga Continues | Making my Podlasie Nadbużańskie Folk Costume: Shirt

Описание: It is a project years in the making, but I've finally finished my Podlasie Nadbużańskie traditional folk shirt! I have OPINIONS on my execution of this project, as well as on how long it took me due to my awful procrastination issue, however all in all I am very happy with the result. Onwards to the gorset!

As usual when discussing Polish folk costumes, I cannot recommend the Stroje Ludowe website enough. https://strojeludowe.net a great research with history, photographs and some regions even include patterns! Although it is in Polish so quick heads up.

Materials used: 2 metres of natural linen (bought locally at Goldhawk Road).
The best I can describe this fabric shopping experience is "you have to feel it". Your best bet honestly is to walk around in person and feel which fabric suits your needs (in my case sensory was a priority, and this fabric does not disapoint).
About 20 8m skeins of the DMC stranded cotton in shade 815 (6 stranded, I divided the strands into thinner threads of 2 strands each)
and about 10 8m skeins of the DMC stranded cotton in shade 310 (same division as above applies)
