Alrighty guys, today we’re taking a real look at the Pimax Crystal Super and answering the question I couldn’t shake the entire time we were testing it.

This headset is one of the most ambitious, high-spec, modular VR headsets I’ve ever seen. You can swap optical engines, potentially upgrade lenses and displays, and even swap the speakers. It’s a monster on paper.

And yet, Pimax barely shows up on the SteamVR Hardware Survey.

So in this video, we break down why this headset exists, who it was actually built for, and whether the Crystal Super solves a real problem in VR.
