This game is now Backrooms: The Last Record, following a recent remake update. The game was previously named Backrooms: We Escape Forever, which is the version we played. We have not checked out the remake version of the game.

Backrooms: We Escape Forever is a story-driven Backrooms investigation horror game where you play as a newly assigned researcher sent to uncover what happened to the team that vanished before you. Their records, documents, audio logs, and environmental notes are scattered throughout the Backrooms — and it’s up to you to piece together the truth and find a way out.

Explore twisting liminal spaces, solve complex puzzles, and survive encounters with former researchers who’ve been changed by exposure to entities native to the Backrooms. They don’t see you as a colleague — they see you as a replacement.

Play alone or with up to 4 players online. Cooperation speeds up searches, reveals new strategies, and increases your chances of escaping, but the story remains the same: not everyone makes it out.

The Backrooms bend logic, fold reality, and distort memory. Some records were never meant to be found. Some exits come at a cost.
