Scripture: John 1:4-5, 2:1-11
The first miracle Jesus did in Cana of Galilee during a wedding feast where he changed water into wine marked a revelation of his identity and glory. The disciples believed that Jesus is the Messiah and Son of God.
The presence of Jesus met a critical need in the celebration and saved the celebrants what would otherwise have been an embarrassment. Wine which was an important feature of wedding in Jesus time ran out. The people did not know what to do but Mary the mother of Jesus knew what to do: She called and looked toJesus for help.
Where do you go when the wine of your relationship runs out? Do you substitute with overtime at work, more time at the gym, travel, alcohol or joining a cycling club? Jesus is the winemaker who provides the best in quality and quantity at no cost. He can change your water into wine if you are thirsty and will be obedient. We can go to Jesus with all our needs because he cares for us and want our joy to be full (John 16:24)
