Berlin-based British artist Rebecca Saunders is Lucerne Festival's composer-in-residence for the Summer Festival 2021. She likes to focus on individual instruments and works intensive with her performers. Her new piano concerto "to an utterance" was written for the pianist Nicolas Hodges and is now receiving its world premiere as part of the "Roche Commissions" series – a rehearsal visit.
