Has anyone run into this problem? What was the fix?
Ryobi’s garage door openers (GDOs) were discontinued until 2023 following a lawsuit by Chamberlain. I finally got around to installing my Ryobi 1.25 HP GDO and everything seems to work fine except my wireless indoor keypad keeps becoming unpaired with the GDO.
When that happens, the lights on the receiver module begin flickering in Morse code and will not allow me to pair the keypad up again until they stop flickering several minutes to hours later. I have a small 1.5 car garage but I still drilled a hole in the back of the receiver module to extend the coiled antenna but that didn’t work. Along with the flickering lights, this leads me to the conclusion that the keypad is somehow becoming unpaired. And it’s not the battery position either as I followed another hack that said to open the keypad and cut out the rubber button segment that pushed on the battery.
I have tons of other Ryobi tools and batteries and I’m a huge fan of the brand for the moderately experienced homeowner, so I really want this GDO to function as it should, otherwise I’ll end up replacing it. If you’ve run into this problem also, please comment below, especially if you’ve worked out a solution. Thanks for your time.
