Award winning Houston punk group GIANT KITTY releases their debut album, THIS STUPID STUFF. This fierce and wry LP was produced by Mark White of the Spin Doctors, recorded by Houston legend Joe Omelchuck, and finally mixed and mastered by the two-time Grammy nominee Roman Klun. It will be digitally distributed with help by Innsbruck Records out of Brooklyn, NY.

GIANT KITTY continues the tradition of strong female voices in punk while bringing along eclectic influences, diverse backgrounds, and a comic sensibility. The band was nominated for Best Punk Act at the 2015 Houston Press Music Awards, won a Best in Houston award in 2014, and was named by Free Press Houston as “A Band to Watch in 2015.”

A feature on the band in the Houston Press says, “I’m nearly ready to toss my hat into the ring for fan club presidency...Why would you not love a band singing about Keanu Reeves over music that sounds like Concrete Blonde? How could you resist an act that brings its one cover song to the stage, and it's a P.J. Harvey tune? ”

Known as one of Houston's premier punk bands, GIANT KITTY has opened for legendary bands such as Japan's Shonen Knife, and Girl in a Coma. The band’s sound has sometimes been described as a mix between the Sex Pistols and the Runaways and has often been compared to Sleater-Kinney, L7, Black Flag, and Bikini Kill.

GIANT KITTY is comprised of members Miriam Hakim (Vocals), Cassandra Chiles (Guitarist), Glenn Gilbert (Bass) and Trinity Quirk (Drums).
