1 pack of chicken thighs or drumsticks
Some chicken breast meat
1 bell pepper
1 small onion
3-4 cups of water (for initial cooking)
1.5 liters (approx. 6 cups) of water (for final broth)
1/2 teacup of vermicelli
Salt to taste
For the Thickening Mixture:
1 egg
2 tablespoons of flour
Juice of 1/2 lemon (approx. 1 tablespoon)
1/2 cup of water
For the Topping (Optional):
Vegetable oil and butter mixture
Red pepper flakes
Mint
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Boil chicken pieces, bell pepper, and onion in 3-4 cups of water. Once cooked, shred the chicken and reserve the cooking broth.
2. In a separate pot, combine the reserved broth and 1.5 liters of water; bring to a boil.
3. Prepare the thickening: Whisk egg, flour, lemon juice, and water until smooth.
4. Temper the thickening mixture by gradually adding spoonfuls of the hot broth while whisking rapidly to raise its temperature.
5. Add vermicelli to the boiling broth; cook for 7-8 minutes.
