President Droupadi Murmu approved gallantry and service awards for hundreds of armed forces personnel, recognising courage, leadership and long-term professional excellence.

Colonel Qureshi, along with Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, briefed the nation during Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam terror attack. Her recognition highlights the growing role of women officers in India’s armed forces.

The honours list also includes Ashok Chakra awardee Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, the first Indian to visit the International Space Station, and several senior officers from the Army, Navy and Air Force.
