Every Cryptid Caught on Camera Explained in 21 Minutes
The Patterson-Gimlin film is the most analyzed piece of cryptid footage in history, shot on October 20, 1967, in Bluff Creek, California, by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin. The 59.5 seconds of 16mm color film shows a large bipedal creature walking across a clearing, turning briefly to look at the camera in what became the iconic frame 352. The subject appears to be between six and a half and seven feet tall, weighing an estimated 500 to 700 pounds, covered in dark brown or black hair with a pronounced crest on its head.
