A life changing journey that doesn't involve backpacking across Europe, nor a road trip to your favorite city. Sometimes, on a quiet afternoon, you notice the smallest things around you which you never did before, and they help paint the bigger picture brighter. This is one such comforting story,"Niyati". Simple and realistic, this is a story about a family of two. It starts and ends within the neighborhood they live in.
Anjuman is a simple being. The only person he cares about is his younger sister, Aira. He works hard to provide her with a good education. So hard that he doesn't have a life outside of his daily routine. Aira on the other hand is a friendly little creature with a passion for art. She always stood as a challenge against Anjuman's closed-off personality.
One day, when Aira and Anjuman have a feud over a box of watercolours, things go out of hand very quickly. A bad day or pent up emotions, either one made Anjuman walk away from Aira for the first time in his life. He felt disrespected; as well as something he had been holding in for the longest time: loneliness.
Pouring his heart out, wanting to be left alone, Anjuman crosses paths with Niyat - a mysterious yet approachable face, and quickly finds comfort in him. Niyat takes him out for an adventure, to show him all the different sides of his life. Anjuman sees the other people in his life, willing to understand him, to lend him a hand.
Anjuman later realises that his life's direction is in his hands. And the world isn't that bad after all! In his own heart, Anjuman made room for himself and understood there's more to life. Being grateful, he decides to give life another chance.
