Korean dried pollock soup (Bukeoguk)

This is definitely one of my family’s favorite soups. The soup has very clean taste. It is very healthy for your body and soul. It is one of those foods where after you eat, you feel like you have done something right for your body. This soup is known as a hangover soup in Korea because of its detoxifying component in the dried pollock. This is a must try!
*Dried pollock can be eaten as a side dish. Growing up I ate dried pollock dipped in Korean chili paste (gochujang). It is delicious.
*It’s important to marinate the rehydrated dried pollock before stir frying. You really want the dried pollock to soak up all the seasoning before putting it in boiling water. It is much more flavorful.
Ingredients:
1/4 onion, cut into 1 inch chunks
8 oz radish, cut in to 1 inch chunks, 1/4 inch thick
1/2 block of tofu, 1 inch cubes
7 cups of water
3.5 oz dried shredded pollock, cut into 2 inch strips
1 green chili pepper, sliced diagonally
1 red chili pepper, sliced diagonally
1 egg omelette, sliced
1 green onion, sliced diagonally
Seasoning:
1 tbsp chopped garlic
1 tbsp fish sauce
1/2 tbsp Korean soup soy sauce
2 tbsp sesame oil
Extra seasoning with salt and pepper
