Wedgwood is an English firm manufacturing earthenware tableware. The brand was founded by Josiah Wedgwood in 1759. He was not only a talented entrepreneur, but also a pioneer. Wedgwood created a cream faience (creamware). And after Wedgwood made a tea set for Queen Charlotte, the material was named "Queen's ware." One of the notable developments of "black basalt" is a ceramic material based on Egyptian clay, from which vases, candlesticks and decor were made. In addition, he developed jasper porcelain, which first appeared in the mid-1770s. It was durable, but at the same time light and airy. The new composition did not need any glaze. Due to the addition of oxides of various metals, products of different colors appeared: lilac, yellow, greenish, gray, blue. It was the blue tableware that became Wedgwood's hallmark. At various times, Wedgwood's products adorned the tables of not only the British nobility, but also the courts of France, Prussia, and Austria.
