David Benatar's asymmetry argument for anti-natalism argues that there is an asymmetry between pleasure and pain for the never-existent, and this asymmetry is supposed to imply that coming into existence is always harmful. After making his argument for it, he argues that the asymmetry he has argued for is the best explanation for four other asymmetries. In this video, I focus on the second of these, explaining in detail why Benatar's asymmetry is not the best explanation for it.
