In today's collection showcase, I share with you one of my favorite non-keris items - The Bugis Badik or better referred to natively in Bugis as kawali.

This Sulawesi Luwu specimen was added to my collection back in 2016. This is an example of a new commission back in 2015 and illustrates the need to support local traditional keris craftsmen.

Without the new, there will never be the old, vintage, and antique. We need to preserve the livelihood of local traditional artisans instead of supporting poor quality duplicates from outside of the native regions.
