Communication network traffic grows at 30-40% per year, doubling every two years. Power consumption in equipment tends to scale with data rate so that increased traffic can lead to unsustainable power consumption levels. The digital transformation consumes power in communication networks and data centres (clouds).

This panel will discuss the sustainability issues facing contemporary communications technologies. Then we propose measures for achieving green communication networks, data centres, and edge processing. Hear how ICT can help numerous industries turn green.
