The Battle of Jutland is famous for a couple reasons. The British having successive battlecruisers blow up, for one. But also the sheer pounding the German battlecruisers took...and survived. All but one.
That one, SMS Lützow, is the topic of today's video. One of the shortest lived capital ships in history. Her proper combat career lasting only a couple months. Yet, for all of that, Lutzow fought well and served well.
And she might even have survived Jutland as well...had she not been hit in the worst possible position. However, in the end, she was still lost. The largest German loss that day.
