'can you?' comes from that moment when your head feels like pure chaos and you just don't know how to trust anyone but you deeply need to, so you take a extreme stake: stating everything that's wrong with you.

you know there's two possible outcomes: they either accept you or reject you, but though the only thing you want is someone to look at you and truly see what you're going through, you don't feel like you're ready or worth of comprehension, so you're kind of hoping you push them away by taking that stake.

this track represents the first emotional stage of 'COUNTRY MOUSE, CITY CAT', where confusion, fear and emotional dependency start taking control before you even realize what's happening.
