In 1989, he founded the Alternative Education Resource Organization and since then has served as its Director. AERO's mission is to help connect individuals and groups and share ideas related to learner-centered education.
Jerry addresses the questions of why a learner-centered approach is crucial for education and how alternative higher education has been evolving over the past decades.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
