The Maniacs were one of the finest english punk bands of 1977 formed in 1976 by lead guitarist Alan Lee Shaw who was part of several other bands such as the Rings and the Physicals. Drummer Rod Latter and Robert Crash on bass joined him to form this 3 piece band unfairly underrated.
Throughout the fury of punk the short lived punk-band split in 1978 after a last performance at the Gibus Club in Paris.
"Chelsea 77",released in 1977 was the first and the only single ever released by the band, backed by "Ain't no legend".
