Does Excel keep deleting your leading zeros?
Like when you type a phone number, and the zero just disappears?
Let’s fix that!
The quickest way is to add an apostrophe ' before the number —
but that’s not practical if you do it often.
A better fix?
Go to File/ Options/ Data,
then uncheck “Remove leading zeros and convert to a number.”
Now Excel automatically keeps those zeros!
Or try this:
Select your cells/ Right-click/ Format Cells/ Custom.
In the Type box, enter 0000000000 for a 10-digit phone number,
or add spaces or dashes like 0000-000-000 to make it clearer.
Now, your zeros stay exactly where they should!
