Описание: This 3D animated video explains how a plug valve works, its main components, advantages, disadvantages, and its applications. We use animation to show the valve moving from the open to close position and vice versa.

Valves are tools that direct, control or regulate the flow of a fluid.
They can allow or interrupt the flow, regulate the flow or pressure rate and their body has inlet and outlet ports, inside of which there is a moving element for flow regulation or interruption.

Plug valves obtain their name from the type of valve disc used. Plug valves are ¼ turn valves and are suitable for stopping and starting flow. Plug valves are not suitable for throttling/regulating flow although there is a diamond port design that is suitable for throttling applications.

The plug of the valve has a hole drilled through the middle, or a rectangular shape bored through the middle. When the borehole is in line with the valve body and connected piping, the valve is in the open position. When the bored hole is perpendicular to the valve body, the valve is in the closed position. The hand indicates the position of the valve (in-line = open, perpendicular = closed).
