Inosanto Kali demonstrating various Sumbrada (counter for counter) drills. These are commonly called the “box pattern,” but are much more in depth than their nickname.
After you home these drills, you should take the skills from the sets and cultivate freedom and creativity. The box pattern should dissolve and be nearly replaced with a game that represents something more like timing sparring.
Always return to the base drill to add new skills and further develop the fundamentals.
