The Floating Mountains; A Geologic Oddity

Описание: The magnificent pillars shown in this video tower as much as 1,000 feet above the surrounding landscape. They have near vertical cliffs and inspired countless settings in movies and video games. Known as the Zhangjiajie Pillars or Floating Mountains, they are a truly fascinating geologic oddity. These pillars are not typical karst landforms but rather are composed out of quartz rich sandstone. This video will discuss these magnificent pillars and how they formed.
