The Hills first met in 2008 while studying at Vanderbilt University. They did not know each other very well throughout college, they were always cordial in passing. A few years later, Cameron and Lisa ended up at a mutual friend's dinner party. That night, Cameron, who is usually very punctual, happened to be running late. When he finally arrived to the party, the only open seat remaining at the dinner table was right next to Lisa (One of Lisa friends who was originally sitting next to her had to get up and leave the party early). Cam and Lisa began talking and immediately hit it off. They talked the entire night and began to wonder how they had never really talked before then. They eventually exchanged numbers with the hopes of getting to know each other better on a casual basis. A few months later, they made their relationship official. They started dating long-distance which set a very strong foundation for their relationship. A year later, Cam moved to Atlanta, where they both lived for a year while Lisa finished her Masters degree. In 2014, they moved to Columbia, SC for Cam's job. Fast-forward to December 20, 2019, Cameron took Lisa on a trip to Asheville, North Carolina where they took a private tour of The Biltmore Estate. Overlooking the historic grounds of the famous Vanderbilt mansion, Cameron got down on one knee and asked Lisa to marry him. Cameron and Lisa truly are best friends who perfectly balance out each other's strengths and weaknesses.
