The Real Cheviot Hill Hiking Vlog and Why It's the Hardest Hike Ever

With an in depth trek of all the toughest parts from Scald Hill to the Cheviot, across to Comb Fell then up to great views on Hedgehope Hill, finishing at the Langleeford Crags.

With a guest hiker on the channel, and some fresh new Hiking Boots to try out, our good friend Craig joined us on his first proper hike and in hindsight we probably made a lot of silly decisions which we can learn from. The worst was probably to actually complete this trail in the first place.

We heard it was tough, and boggy. But not this boggy, and not with added canyons and ankle-breaking heather fields you had no other choice but to go through. This really could of turned into a Hiking Horror Story.

We also felt like we didn't enjoy the views enough as our focus was too much on what was under our feet and ahead of us.

So we are publishing this longer video as a warning, and guide to those wanting to find out more about this trail to the top of Northumberland as we felt many other videos left these important details out.

This is certainly an extremely hard trail, not for family or kids. If we return, we would just go up Scald Hill to the cheviot then back down the same way.
Or alternatively, across from Langleeford Crags up Hedgehope hill, then return the same way.

What we wouldn't recommend is crossing from The Cheviot to Hedgehope via Comb Fell unless you are a seasoned hiker prepared and know how to handle yourself.

In the end it was an Acheviotment! Very proud of how we battled on but it could of gone much worse - which you learn from your mistakes. Bad decisions.

Plus if anyone can tell us what those stone 'dens' are going up Scald Hill please leave comments below... we couldnt find anything about them.
