The AMAZING National Motor Museum at Beaulieu | Veteran, vintage & classic cars on display

Описание: The summer of 2022 saw us visit the incredible Beaulieu motor museum, or the National Motor Museum to give it its proper title. I'd attended the famous Beaulieu autojumble on a couple of occasions wayyy back in the early 1990s but somehow had never visited the vast collection of veteran, vintage and classic cars that make up this incredible collection. As we were in the area, this glaring omission had to be rectified.
A number of vehicles were seen being exercised within the museum's grounds throughout the day - including an "Only Fools & Horses" Reliant van, one of the Outspan orange Mini promotional vehicles, a Morris Minor Traveller, Morris 8 S2, and other venerable machines, all of which feature in this upload on the Old Classic Car channel. Other TV and film cars dotted around Beaulieu included a James Bond Aston Martin DB5, Harry Potter's Ford Anglia 105E, a Mr Bean Mini, and quite an assortment of ex-BBC Top Gear cars including a Jaguar XJs converted for use on rails, a battered Renault 4, and a Spitfire converted to battery power.
The variety of cars within the main museum itself was broad, with an emphasis on cars from the early decades of the 20th century. I was really chuffed to trip over a mighty 1913 Argyll that once shared barn space with my old Dodge truck a long long time ago, and remains in the first owner's family to this day. Other highlights were the slightly bonkers Crossley Burney Streamline, a very neat Reliant Regal Mk1, an Amphicar amphibious car powered by a Triumph Herald engine, a Mk1 Ford Consul convertible, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and a bevy of competition cars including an original BRM V16 Mk1. All around the cars themselves were cabinets and shelves packed with amazing automobilia, many of which were displayed within excellent re-creations of period garages dressed up as they might have looked in the 1920s and 1930s.
