The best dirt cheap mod for your new cheapo guitar

Are you on the verge of pulling the trigger on that super cheap guitar on Amazon? Or maybe you've already got your hands on the last 99 dollar guitar in stock - only to find out that it's not quite the immaculate masterpiece you pictured in your head... Not to worry, there's a mod to save your butt, and it will only cost you about 5 dollars (or about 15, if you want a new pickguard)!

The simple mod done here creates an on/off direct to output switch, similar to the old time blower switch mod, with a simple toggle switch you can get at any Tractor Supply co. or Princess Auto. With this, you'll have a middle pickup which will provide a noticeable output boost for any position once turned on. Quick, cheap and easy. Note - make sure to put the lead coming from the pickup to the off side of the switch if you have the on side facing up in the control plate.
