The Life of Apollonius of Tyana (Books 5-8)

We continue our walkthrough of the biography of Apollonius of Tyana, written by Philostratus during the Severan period of the Roman empire. In this video, we cover the second half of the text with a special focus on its central conflict: philosophy vs. tyranny. Apollonius faces off against the tyrant Domitian and proves once and for all that good leadership is accompanied by the pursuit of truth and justice.
