Bio:

Bill Martin, PhD, is the Global Therapeutic Area Head of Neuroscience at Janssen Research & Development (Johnson & Johnson), where he leads a precision neuroscience pipeline of transformative treatments for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders. A scientist by training, Bill has broad experience in drug discovery, development, portfolio strategy, licensing and partnerships. Prior to J&J, he co-founded and served as President and CEO of Blackthorn Therapeutics—acquired by Neumora Therapeutics—where he integrated computational and clinical neuroscience to advance precision medicine approaches for CNS disorders. He also held leadership roles at Theravance Biopharma and began his career at Merck, shaping its Neuroscience franchise. Bill is active in the brain health community, serving on the Advisory Council for Brown University’s Carney Institute and the National Academies’ Forum on Neuroscience and Nervous System Disorders within the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine. He is a founding board member of the Alliance for AI in Healthcare and has authored over 80 peer-reviewed publications.
