We are preparing Special Ramadan dish, sweet made with Semolina (Rava). Basbousa belong to a family of Arab Cuisine which is the perfect dessert as a cake. Though during Ramadan often we have plenty of dishes for main course and as starters, but desserts becomes interesting when they are light and yummy. Preparing Basbousa does not take much time, neither need lot of ingredients to bake. The specialty of this Sweet cake is that it stays as soft as it is at the time of baking. You should try this recipe at home to add more flavours in dessert during Ramadan.
Ingredients:
For sugar syrup:
Water - 2 cups
Sugar - 1 1/2 cup
Lime juice - 1 tsp
Rose water - 1 tsp
For Basbousa batter:
Eggs - 2 nos
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Melted butter - 1 cup (200 gms of butter melted)
Yogurt - 1 cup
Semolina - 2 cups
Vanilla flavour - 2 tsp
Baking powder - 1 tsp
Desiccated coconut - 1 cup
Butter – for greasing the tray
For Garnishing
Peeled almonds – 1/3 cup
