A vital part of the law-making process, public comments allow EVERYONE, not just lawmakers, the opportunity to participate in drafting and refining laws. As a constitutional democracy, the US government allows for the participation of the people in the rule-making process that extends BEYOND VOTING.

This is accomplished through the submission of public comments. In this video, I talk about how public comments came to be, how you can submit a public comment, and why public comments are so important.
