According to an Executive Intelligence Review article from June 10, 1985, titled “The human rights mafia behind Sikh terrorism,” the WSO, which today has or had many of its former executive members or their family members in positions of power within the Canadian government, sought and obtained help to “clean up its terrorist image.”

Although that clean-up may have worked to the extent that it allowed former WSO executives' family members like Harjit Sajjan, Tim Uppal, Navdeep Bains, and many others to enjoy unchallenged political careers, those days may now be coming to an end.

Through his insider knowledge, Mr. Rai reveals a potential conflict of interest concerning the WSO’s founding president, Gian Singh Sandhu, his daughter, BC Supreme Court Judge Palbinder Shergill, and the Air India Inquiry of 2006.

"Palbinder Shergill did not disclose to the Air India inquiry that she was the daughter of Gian Singh Sandhu, who had complicity and knowledge with the Air India bombings of 1985. She kept this hidden from the Canadian public, her family relation with one of the suspects, her own father,” highlighted Mr. Rai.

Media Bezirgan was unable to find whether or not Justice Shergill disclosed her familial connection to Gian Singh Sandhu to Justice John Major during the Air India Inquiry.

"She kept this hidden from the Canadian public, her family relation with one of the suspects, her own father, and tried to introduce documents that would further propagate the seed planted by CSIS in a desperate attempt to pin these terrorist attacks on the Indian government to shield at least one person that was her own family member,” expresses Mr. Rai.

Given the awarding of government jobs to the sons of other executives, passing non-competitive procurement contracts to each other's family members, directing government resources away from Canadians in need on behalf of Sikh charities that fall under the WSO umbrella, and familial connections to influential Canadian politicians like Jagmeet Singh, Tim Uppal, and Harjit Sajjan, questions arise as to how much influence the WSO may have over the BC Supreme Court where Justice Shergill works.

"Palbinder Shergill is not only a disgrace to the Canadian justice system; I think that some of her past conduct is highly questionable and diminishes her integrity to zero,” says Mr. Rai.

This is a significant revelation given the recent news that Ripudaman Singh Malik’s assassins, who were being tried in BC’s Supreme Court, were given a plea deal for second-degree murder.

"The recent plea deal that was given to the killers of Ripudaman Singh Malik… Even though the investigative agencies had overwhelming proof to convict these two young adults of first-degree murder, for reasons unknown and known, they were given a plea deal where if they took the plea deal and pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, they would not have to divulge information on who they received payment for the assassination hit job,” says Mr. Rai, raising concerns about what kind of trial the four assassins of Hardeep Singh Nijjar would receive from BC courts.

"From the start of this trial, the influence that the World Sikh Organization may or may not have had with this trial is massive. The individuals that have been charged in the assassination of Hardeep Singh Nijjar… It is troubling to think what kind of a trial they will be given in BC and what kind of influence the World Sikh Organization will have on the BC government, the Crown prosecutor, and the courtroom in which these shooters will be tried."

The fact that BC Supreme Court Judge Justice Shergill is the daughter of the World Sikh Organization's founding president, who was interrogated about the 1985 Air India bombing, is significant.
