David Thorpe, Associate Director of Nursing and Allied Health Professionals said: "The Trust employs about 1,700 nursing and midwifery staff and the conference will be an opportunity to celebrate the excellent work they do.
"I'm relatively new to Colchester but I've been extremely impressed by just how caring, committed and proud the workforce is and by their desire for the organisation to be the best.
"We need to do more to promote the excellent work that our nurses and midwives do, such as by speaking at conferences and writing in professional publications.
"The aim of the nursing and midwifery strategy that we're launching is to make the Trust a centre of excellence."
