A handful of historical cabins scattered across Nova Scotia’s backcountry are open to anyone — if they can get there. Some were built a century ago during a bygone era of wilderness management. In the last decade, the cabins have been saved from ruin by the stewardship of volunteers who hope these remote sites will be respected by future generations of visitors.
