Cat In The Act is a 1957 *Herman and Katnip* animated short released on February 22, 1957 by *Famous Studios* and distributed by Paramount Pictures, featuring the classic cat‑versus‑mouse duo Herman the mouse and Katnip the cat in Technicolor. In this cartoon, Herman takes his nephew *Murgatroyd* on a sightseeing tour of Paramount’s Hollywood studio, only for the timid boy to be frightened by various “jungle animals” and odd happenings. Herman reassures him they’re just mechanical props, but soon discovers his old nemesis *Katnip* lurking among them, leading to the usual battle of wits and slapstick chaos as Herman must outsmart Katnip to protect his nephew and escape trouble while turning the tables on the cat’s schemes.
