The North Goa Additional Sessions Court has rejected the second bail plea of accused Devidas Barve in the Shravan Barve murder case.

The court observed that delay in trial alone cannot be considered a valid ground for granting bail in serious offences such as murder.

Barve, who is accused of conspiring in the murder of his son Shravan Barve along with co-accused Vayudev Ozarekar and Uday Barve, had sought bail on the grounds of prolonged custody and delay in proceedings.

However, the prosecution strongly opposed the plea, alleging that he is the main conspirator in the case and that his release could adversely impact the trial process.
