Berseem Cultivation Method | برسیم کی کاشت
Berseem is Rabi-Season fodder with high nutritional value. It contains nodules on roots that fix nitrogen. It is a leguminous crop so increases the fertility status of soils.

Berseem varieties:
The early variety is Anmol Ageti Berseem.
Late Variety: Faisalabad Late, Lylpur berseem late, Pachheti Berseem.
Land Preparation: Laser land leveler is a must get high green fodder yield from Barseem crop.

Sowing Time:
Berseem fodder is sown at the Start of month October to Mid October.

Seed rate:
8 kg per acre in case of only Berseem cultivation.

Mix cropping:
It can be grown mixed with Mustard, Season, Canola, Raya, Rai grass, and Oat.

The number of cuttings:
6 to 7 cuttings can be obtained in a season from the Berseem crop.

Fertilizer Requirements:
1.5 bags DAP at Land Preparation time.

Use nitrogenous fertilizers such as Urea, Ammonium Sulphate, etc after every cutting.
Rhizobium inoculum having bacteria could be used to treat seeds to take high green fodder yields.
Berseem can be cultivated in all irrigated areas of Punjab, Pakistan.
