Join us in recognizing the heroism and legacy of Private James William Reese, a WWII Medal of Honor recipient. His story has been loosely scattered across archives for more than 80 years until now, where we tell it in full detail. Watch as we clean his headstone and tell his journey from a popular high school student in Chester, Pennsylvania, to a courageous soldier of the 1st Infantry Division – The Big Red One.
Follow his path through Operation Torch, the North African campaign, the Battle of Kasserine Pass, and the brutal fighting in Sicily, where his selfless actions on Monte Basilio saved his unit and cost him his life. We also trace the long journey of his remains, the emotional homecoming in 1948, and the many tributes, both in the U.S. and abroad, that honor his sacrifice.
Alongside this history, you’ll see the complete restoration of Private Reese’s neglected headstone using D/2 Biological Solution, with a follow-up visit to show the final results.
If you believe in preserving military history, honoring Medal of Honor recipients, and supporting respectful grave restoration, this video is for you. Please like, comment, and subscribe to help keep stories like Private Reese’s alive.
