OK, my buddy Steve made me do this. It’s a fretless-ized Ed O’Brien Strat with the Sustainer device installed. SOMEONE was watching Blake Mills videos with a lusty mind. SOMEONE.
I like it. I don’t know how to use it well but I like it!
Word to the wise: the Sustainer works a million times better with frets as it likes a hard contact point to drive vibration more efficiently. I tested this with a slide and a piece of fretstock in a chunk of wood and… sustain was immediate and lasted forever. That said, the sort-of subtle, theremin-like stuff you can get out of this on the treble between bass-note chugging is pretty cool.
