The Gulches (Jeep Gladiator Off Road) [ep 95]

Описание: Join us as we run Hackett Gulch, Metberry Gulch, and Longwater Gulch, a group of moderately difficult Jeep trails West of Colorado Springs.

The Gulches lie within Wildcat Canyon, which was burned pretty badly in the Hayman Fire of 2002. It's quite the experience wheeling through such a desolate area, but there's beauty in the mundane.

Astonishingly, the area is recovering. Aspens are taking root, and wildlife is returning to the area.

Overall the trails are rated as difficult, but relative to our rig, it was pretty moderate. Definitely a fun trail and worth going! We're looking forward to seeing how this area grows back over the years.

Being able to wheel in this area is a privilege. After the fire, the forest service closed the roads. Predator 4 Wheel Drive picked up the tab on maintenance, and eventually the county was granted an easement. But Park County, does not have an easement, and because the road is still closed by the forest service, you have to turn around at the Teller/Park County line.

Help keep the trails open and DO NOT CROSS into Park County.
