In January 2026, third-grade teacher and mom of two Kaitlin Schmidt stepped onto the stage at the Lakewood Cultural Center for the debut of Not Til Now™ — a live storytelling event about courage, creative risk, and doing something for the first time.
This performance marked Kaitlin’s first time performing stand-up comedy — in front of 320 people in a sold-out theater. In her sharp and wildly relatable set, she hilariously unpacked life with ADHD at 42 — alongside the chaos of parenting, teaching, and finally understanding how her brain works.
In her free time, Kaitlin paints, sketches, escapes to the mountains, and occasionally finds herself at a nude hot spring. On this night, she stepped into a dream she had quietly been circling for years.
Not Til Now is a Colorado-based live storytelling event featuring first-time speakers, first-time stand-up comedians, and bold creative performances. The show celebrates stepping into the moment before you feel ready — and discovering what happens when you do.
