Initially installed at Snowbird in 1976 and replaced by the Peruvian Express in 2006 then reinstalled in 2008 to serve a massive expansion to Bridger Bowl exclusive to expert skiers and riders. This Doppelmayr double serves probably some of the craziest in bounds terrain in North America and is so steep it requires an avalanche beacon to ride. It’s a pretty standard 70’s era Doppelmayr double, albeit the chairs & grips were replaced upon relocation with several to be found as benches though out the resort. It uses early style Doppelmayr sheaves & crossarms with added lifting frames, newer EJ chairs, TC grips, some of the the sheaves are spoked body sheaves in addition to the solid body ones, a simple fixed top return, & a 70’s style drive/tension terminal at the bottom. The higher elevation towers starting at tower 9 have thicker diameter tubes to withstand the force of avalanches. The lift serves some truly harrowing terrain that is very easy to get cliffed out & requires mandatory straightlining to get down, the avalanche beacon requirement is very justified.
