Intercontinental Rally arrives in Africa.
So this year's edition has kicked off on African soil. After a short prologue around Almeria, the entire rally took the ferry to Nador. Todays stage let all the participants get a feel for the navigational challenges, starting and time taking procedures. A five hour ferry trip later the rally arrived in Nador to face the customs and immigration control; all went without problems. At this moment nearly all off the teams are at today's bivouac, except Team Fatpony Offroad who have experienced technical problems, and are stuck in Nador. We all cross our fingers that they make their start time for tomorrows stage, which will run over 500km, of which 350 are timed specials. Next update from the dunes at Merzouga...
