Takagi T-H3-DV-N fan replacement for 611 error

Описание: Definitely not a professionally done video but hopefully helpful for someone in the future. I couldn’t find any resources for showing how this was done so I wanted to put this out there.

I had no issues with my tankless water heater for 5.5 years and then I started getting this issue (it has a 5 year warranty!). Takagi / AO Smith have been pretty much zero help and told me to buy a $300 fan plus a $300 PLC board plus $100 in tax and shipping that’s more than 1/2 of what I paid for the unit. They provided no real troubleshooting or understanding of my issue, and just said to hope the fan and board fixed it.

I bought the replacement P/N 100074606 from SuppliesDepot.com and paid $271 including tax and shipping. If you can find the motor by itself then it would be very easy swap that out, I'm not sure what the P/N is you could try searching: DR-8538-970A-03213W, or TP-OTSHQ9, or TP-OTSOJ 21D020028.

In the end it wasn’t a terrible repair but it also shouldn’t have cost me $300. Luckily, I was able to find burned resistors on the motor board so I do think I’ve solved the problem.

I was able to find a replacement motor for $50 and I would’ve done that in hindsight. It would only take a minute to swap once the fan has been removed.
