In this episode of The Big Focus, Afrida Rahman Ali will discuss the Kerala’s Sessions Court decision on granting anticipatory bail to 74-year-old activist and author, Civic Chandran, in a sexual harassment case. The Sessions Court in its order said that the complainant herself was exposing by wearing a dress which was sexually provocative. Hence, a case of sexual harassment will not stand prima facie. The order says that the woman’s pictures have been submitted by the accused along with his bail application, in which she can be seen wearing sexually provocative clothes. In another observation by the court, it said that it is impossible to believe a 74-year-old man with physical disability can forcefully make a girl sit on his lap.
