Three Days and Three Nights in the Heart of the Earth (Matthew

Описание: This single verse (Matt 12:40) has many people imagining that Yeshua would be in the grave for 72 hours. Is this what Yeshua wanted to teach His disciples? Is this what Matthew believed? How would this fit with traditional chronology, where Yeshua eats the Pesach on Thursday evening, Nisan 14, and is afterwards arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane. The next day, Friday, Nisan 15, He is crucified and buried before the coming of the Sabbath, Nisan 16. Then on the morning of the first day of the week (Sunday, Nisan 17) the tomb is found to be empty. Advocates of the “72-hour” burial interpretation of Matthew 12:40 reject this chronology, but why? The phrase "in the heart of the earth" occurs only here in the Bible, so what does it mean if not "buried" or "in the grave"?
