Stop assuming a criminal record automatically creates a U.S. border ban. U.S. Border Agents
follow the Immigration and Nationality Act, which targets specific "Crimes Involving Moral
Turpitude" (CIMT). If your offense does not meet this definition, applying for a waiver is a mistake.
In this video, U.S. Waiver Lawyer Dan Joffe explains the "Admission Trap" and how we use
"Statutory Deconstruction" to avoid filing unnecessary waivers. Instead, we target a "September
Letter"—a permanent document confirming your admissibility.

Stop assuming a criminal record automatically equals a U.S. border ban. For example, a single
DUI is not a Crime Involving Moral Turpitude. I'm Dan Joffe, U.S. Entry Waiver Lawyer. The
Immigration and Nationality Act is specific. You are only inadmissible for a Crime Involving Moral
Turpitude, known as CIMT. However, do not walk into the "Admission Trap." U.S. CBP officers use
a specific protocol to bypass the courts. They are trained to read you the legal definition of a
crime. If you then voluntarily admit to those specific "Essential Elements," that statement creates
a permanent bar—just like a criminal conviction. Volume-based waiver service companies or
pardon agencies blindly file Form I-192 applications you do not need. My law firm takes a different
approach. We apply "Statutory Deconstruction" to analyze your specific court records against U.S.
federal precedents. If your offense is not a CIMT, we do not file a Form I-192 waiver application.
Instead, we fight for a "September Letter"—a permanent government document confirming you
are free to enter the U.S. indefinitely. We secure a permanent determination of
admissibility—effectively, a lifetime waiver. Review the full legal text in the description below.
