I have recently broken my 5k PB that I set back in 2011. I was 28 years old back then. Since then my personal record got slower and slower over the years.
I've come to realize that I had never done a proper training block of zone 5 training, more specifically POWER zone 5 training.
Usually when it comes with zone training, usually this refers to heart rate zone. In this case I have been using a running power meter - STRYD - to base my intensity on.
Eventually I broke my 9y/o 5k PR with a sub 17 5k
